uhh.. it was long. we drove to kamloops that evening - though we missed a turn and ended up driving for a long time till we hit a deadend in the middle of hicksville. That added on over an hour to that trip. Driving from Kamloops to etwon isn't so bad. Like 9 and a half I think?

Nope, the right one. I have no need for a crane. That 12V completely stock is great. The only problem with newer trucks is the engines have so much wireing and electronics to be truly reliable.

What year of 3/4 ford? Cummins conversions aren't to crazy, lots of people have done them. There are a number of companies that make all the necessary pieces for it. Price wise, probably wouldn't be cheap, depending on the cost of the engine. A 12 valve would definitely be the easiest swap with no electronics.

Oh so true, diesels are way more reliable, and more fuel efficient, and you can tow/haul anything with them. Ironic how parents blindly follow those who are in a supposed position of knowledge then you whose actually been doing the research. Oh well, worst case scenario you just end up working for a year or two and buying the truck yourself and shoving it in their faces.
